In my pursuit of travel and outdoor adventure, I’ve backpacked in the Big Horns, swam across a river with crocodiles in Costa Rica (carrying a bagful of dead crabs, no less) and successfully (I’m still alive) completed a 200-foot free-hand climb a couple of miles behind Mt. Rushmore (yes, I have pictures). I routinely backpack, canoe and camp throughout the Appalachian Mountains.
I have hunted elk in Colorado, pronghorn in Wyoming and rely on deer hunting in Kentucky for a large portion of my family’s yearly meat. I’m also an avid reloader for my 30-06, 45-70, 45 Colt and 45 1911.
On a professional note, I’m a journalist and accomplished ghostwriter whose latest work, for two psychologists, is averaging five stars on Amazon. Writing professionally since 1999, I have authored news articles, press releases, marketing copy, technical documentation, UX content, website content, novels and non-fiction books. I have freelanced for VentureBeat, AppleInsider, the Houston Chronicle, Salon.com, CarsDirect, Dell’s Tech Page One, Gadget Hacks and more.
This site is dedicated to using and reviewing the gear and equipment my friends, hunting partners and I rely on when in the wilderness.
